Islamabad, Jan 20: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has introduced stringent measures to regulate and oversee pilgrims opting for premium Hajj packages under the 2025 private Hajj scheme. These guidelines aim to ensure transparency, compliance, and security throughout the process.

As part of the new policy, individuals selecting Hajj packages priced above Rs3 million will be subject to a comprehensive security clearance process. This includes a detailed evaluation by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), which will assess the pilgrims’ tax records and financial assets to ensure legitimacy. In parallel, security agencies will conduct background checks to review criminal records and other relevant data.

In addition to individual scrutiny, private companies offering high-cost Hajj packages must also adhere to strict regulations.

The companies must submit a detailed breakdown of their package offerings, including pricing and amenities, for the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ review and approval. This ensures packages meet financial standards and maintain the integrity of the Hajj process.

However, Mohammad Hakeem Khattak will coordinate between the Ministry and stakeholders. He will ensure the guidelines are followed promptly.

These measures reflect the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing the Hajj experience for all pilgrims. By focusing on transparency, financial accountability, and security, the government aims to create a fair and regulated environment for individuals opting for luxurious Hajj packages. Moreover, these steps aim to uphold the sanctity of the pilgrimage while preventing any potential misuse of resources.

This initiative underscores the importance of balancing privilege with responsibility, ensuring that those who can afford premium services do so in compliance with national laws and ethical standards.
