Islamabad, Oct 12: Punjab Announces New Admission Policy for Medical and Dental Colleges

The admissions policy for all of the medical and dentistry colleges in Punjab has been formally released by the government.

This follows the provincial cabinet’s acceptance of the policy, which was put into effect on Friday after the Specialized Healthcare Department sent out a notification.

The new regulation has a big adjustment that affects students from Islamabad. The medical colleges in Punjab have only allotted three places for them, so terminating their eligibility for open merit admissions to MBBS programs.

Another development is that the province’s capacity for medical education has been increased with approval for Narowal Medical College to accept 100 students for the current academic year.

October 21, 2024, is when applications for government medical colleges will open, and they will remain open until November 4, 2024.

Applications for private medical colleges are accepted from November 5, 2024, through November 19, 2024. Applications for dental colleges at government universities will be accepted from November 20 to December 4, 2024, while those at private universities will be accepted from December 5 to December 19, 2024.

February 1, 2025, is when classes for MBBS programs will begin, and March 1, 2025, is when classes for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programs will commence.

The Punjabi medical and dental colleges’ admissions procedures will be overseen by the University of Health Sciences (UHS).
