Islamabad, Sep 9: Punjab has launched its first satellite-linked monitoring system, marking a major advancement in environmental protection. The system’s deployment was announced by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, who emphasized how it uses drones and cutting-edge technology to find and correct environmental infractions.
The technique has already shown to be successful, resulting in raids on facilities that were discovered to be violating environmental standards by releasing toxic smoke. The Department of Environmental Protection has effectively located and closed two of these enterprises with the use of drone technology.
The department raided them in concert with the district administration. In order to stop additional environmental harm, the authorities moved swiftly, demolishing the factories’ kilns and sealing the area. Before the season starts, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb declared that the province will step up its anti-smog effort, with guidance from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. With an estimated 250,000 deaths in the nation each year due to smog, Aurangzeb emphasized the critical need to address the underlying causes of the problem.
She emphasized the need for everyone in Punjab to take part in the battle against smog and the need for everyone to work together to protect lives.Regarding the May 9 event, Aurangzeb made a statement in which he said that individuals who planned and carried out the attack on the state would pay a price.
