The meeting also included a progress review of the Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop, a key 18.5-kilometre section expected to ease congestion around the city.

Additionally, feasibility studies were ordered for a potential expressway that would connect Layyah-Bhakkar Road to the motorway, enhancing access to underdeveloped areas.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized uniformity in infrastructure aesthetics by proposing standard tuff tile patterns for pavements in cities and villages alike.

Officials reported that construction is currently underway on 460 road schemes, with several already completed, including the stretch from Quaid-e-Azam Interchange to the Wagah Border.

The provincial government has also secured approval from the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for the dualization of the Multan-Vehari road. Simultaneously, development work on the Muridke-Narowal Road continues to progress.

The CM endorsed a proposal to set a minimum road width of 12 feet and announced that both inter-district and inter-village roads will be part of the upcoming fiscal year’s infrastructure portfolio.

The Mega Road Project is expected to not only boost transportation efficiency but also support economic activity and regional development throughout Punjab by improving access to markets, schools, and health services.

In a separate address marking World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring secure workplaces.
