Islamabad, Jan 16: Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has unveiled a series of transformative initiatives to empower students and foster education across the province.

Speaking at the Honhaar Scholarship distribution ceremony held at Government College Women’s University, Sialkot, she announced that students scoring over 65% marks will be rewarded with high-quality laptops. The initiative underscores her commitment to supporting academic excellence and equipping students with the tools needed for a digital future.

The Chief Minister revealed that the first shipment of these laptops has already arrived and assured attendees of their superior quality. “Every student achieving over 65% will receive a laptop, and I will personally oversee the distribution,” she affirmed. This initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and encourage students to excel in their studies.

In addition to the laptop distribution, Maryam Nawaz announced a significant expansion of the Honhaar Scholarship program. The number of scholarships will increase from 30,000 to 50,000 in the upcoming budget, with the program now extending its reach to second- and third-year students.

This expansion highlights the government’s focus on making education accessible to more young minds, ensuring they have the financial support to pursue their academic dreams.

Another groundbreaking initiative unveiled by the Chief Minister is the distribution of 100,000 e-bikes to students across Punjab.

Addressing the students, Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of staying steadfast and loyal to Pakistan, urging them to rise above negativity and divisive rhetoric. “Pakistan is our red line, and we must always act in its best interest,” she said. She also took the opportunity to address political controversies, urging the youth to focus on progress and unity rather than succumbing to baseless allegations.

However, Earlier, during the launch of the Honhaar Scholarship program at Islamia University Bahawalpur, the Chief Minister highlighted the role of education in building an inclusive and harmonious society. She stressed the need to eliminate hatred and foster unity, stating, “Hatred destroys communities, but education builds them. Let us create a society driven by knowledge and understanding.”
