The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) approved the plan of the Chief Minister to install solar power systems for agricultural tubewells throughout the province, during its meeting on Monday,
It is anticipated that this project will cost about Rs. 9 billion. The council, presided over by Barrister Nabeel Awan, also authorized seven other development projects totaling more over Rs. 24 billion.
One of the authorized initiatives is a project for an estimated Rs. 848.97 million that aims to prevent erosion on the left bank of the River Chenab in the Hafizabad district, notably at Kot Kameer and Behak Ahmad Yar.
In addition, Rs. 3.8 billion has been approved for the renovation and upkeep of the 45-kilometer Faisalabad-Jaranwala route, which runs from the Makuana bypass to the Syedwala Okara road via the Syedwala Interchange Motorway M-3. Additionally, the PDWP approved the Rs. 530 million projected renovation and enhancement of Ghazi Road, which links Ferozepur Road and Ring Road in the Lahore region.
The rehabilitation and enhancement of roads in the districts of Nankana Sahib (Rs. 1.32 billion), Okara (Rs. 3.451 billion), and Sahiwal (Rs. 5.49 billion) are among the other approved projects.
Officials from the P&D Board Secretary Dr. Asif Tufail, the Agriculture Department Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, the Chief Economist Nasir Iqbal Malik, and other relevant personnel attended the meeting.
