Islamabad, Sep 25: The Punjab government has approved the recruitment of 7,354 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) across the province, as announced during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Key Approvals and Initiatives
- Police Special Allowance: A special allowance for police personnel serving in the Katcha area was also approved.
- Endowment Fund for Writers: The cabinet sanctioned a Rs500 million fund aimed at supporting writers’ welfare under the Information and Culture Department.
- Court for Persons with Disabilities: Approval was given for the establishment of a special court for individuals with disabilities, in accordance with the Punjab Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act.
Infrastructure and Development Approvals
- The cabinet approved the inclusion of Lahore Knowledge Park on Bedian Road under the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority.
- New members were appointed to the Gujranwala Development Authority, along with a new vice chairman for WASA, Gujranwala.
- Amendments to the government land exchange policy for housing schemes were approved, alongside the reallocation of funds for upgrading and constructing tertiary care hospitals within the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department.
