Islamabad, Oct 11: Punjab University Reschedules Exams Amid SCO Summit in Islamabad. Because to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference, Punjab University has deferred its exams, according to an ARY News article published on Friday.
Exams that were set for October 14, 15, and 16 have been canceled due to the SCO meeting, a university spokeswoman has stated. The new dates for these tests are October 17, 18, and 19.The spokesman continued, “Examining in other cities in Punjab will follow the previously announced schedule, with the exception of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.”
To maintain security during the SCO conference, the Punjab government had earlier enforced Section 144 in Rawalpindi for eight days. All political meetings, sit-ins, demonstrations, protests, and related actions will be prohibited in Rawalpindi during this time, according to a statement from the Punjab Home Department.
In addition, the usage of drones and laser lights inside city limits, pigeon flying, aerial firing, and pillion riding are all prohibited. The government has said that this action will continue until October 17 in order to uphold law and order and guarantee public safety. Personnel working in law enforcement will not be subject to these limitations.
The dates of the SCO summit are set for October 15 and 16 in Islamabad. The government of Islamabad and Rawalpindi has declared a three-day public holiday in order to facilitate seamless arrangements.
