Islamabad, Jan 7: Quetta has officially launched the issuance of International Driving Licenses, marking a pivotal development in the city’s transport infrastructure. This initiative, aimed at improving mobility and aligning the region with global standards, was inaugurated during a visit by Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, to the Motorway Police’s Driving License Centre in Quetta.

In his address, the Chief Minister praised the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) for their professionalism and their role in restoring public trust through a streamlined licensing process. Bugti also commended the NHMP’s efforts in maintaining international standards, stating that this initiative is a testament to their professionalism and dedication. He stressed that modernizing the licensing process would not only benefit individual drivers but also enhance regional connectivity by facilitating cross-border travel and trade.

The introduction of International Driving Licenses is seen as a significant step in Quetta’s ongoing efforts to modernize its transport sector. It is expected to foster greater economic ties and mobility, supporting both tourism and commerce in the region while ensuring a safer and more efficient road network.
