The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has rejected the layout plan submission for the “New Airport Town” housing scheme, labeling it as unapproved and illegal. An RDA spokesperson stated that the file, which was submitted by the scheme’s owner, Shahid Mehmood, was returned following a thorough review by the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate.
The unauthorized housing scheme, which is located in Mouza Katarian, Tehsil, and District Rawalpindi, was flagged by the RDA, alerting residents against purchasing plots there. The spokesperson stated that the RDA, led by DG Kinza Murtaza, is prepared to take strict legal actions against those who break the law.
According to Rule 46(1) of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021, the developers of “New Airport Town” are accused of selling and advertising plots without the necessary RDA clearance.
