Islamabad, Jan 23: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is intensifying efforts to curb illegal construction and unapproved housing schemes.
The RDA issued notices to the CEO of the illegal Park View City Phase-II and landowners near Gulraiz Housing Scheme for violating urban planning laws. These schemes were found to be marketing plots, conducting bookings, and undertaking development without prior approval from RDA.
The violation pertains to the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, and the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021, posing risks to regulated urban growth. Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza, emphasized the need for adherence to legal procedures, warning that no project should commence without RDA’s formal authorization.

RDA urges the public to verify housing schemes before investing and to consult the RDA website for a list of approved developments.
