Islamabad, Sep 12: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) shut a warehouse, a shop, and other buildings in the Saidpur Housing Scheme as part of an operation against unlawful commercial buildings.
A representative for the RDA stated that the RDA Enforcement Squad carried out a targeted operation against unapproved or illegal commercial constructions in the Saidpur Housing Scheme, following orders from the Director General of the RDA, Kinza Murtaza.
A warehouse located on Saidpur Road, a business, and several other structures in Mohalla Raja Sultan were sealed during the operation by the squad.The Enforcement Squad, along with other RDA officers and Building Inspectors, conducted the operation.
The approved building plans and maps were breached by the property owners, Muhammad Tanveer, Muhammad Naveed, Zaib un Nisa, and Nargas. The owners disregarded notices from the RDA, violating the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021 as well as the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976. They also built illegal commercial buildings without obtaining the required approvals or No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
The spokesman further stated that Kinza Murtaza has instructed the Land Use & Building Control (LU&BC) Wing to take strong measures against intrusions, unpermitted constructions, and unlawful commercial operations in residential areas.
