Islamabad, Aug 22: The illegal commercial properties in Bahria Town Phase-VIII were shut by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) during an operation, following the directions of Director General (DG), Kinza Murtaza.
In Bahria Town Phase-VIII, the RDA Enforcement Squad carried out a targeted operation against unlicensed commercial constructions, sealing the Amlairz Premium Hyper Market Plaza and Triple-A Heights, which are located on Plot No. 11 on Lake View Road, according to an RDA spokesman.
In response to violations of the authorized building plans and maps by the property owners, named as Azeem Shahid, Abid Shahid, and Fawad Bashir, the Assistant Director of Building Control, Building Inspectors, and other officials participated in the operation and sealed the illegal commercial properties.
The owners continued to build illegal commercial buildings without obtaining the required approvals or No Objection Certificates (NOCs), in violation of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021, the spokesman said, despite earlier notices from the RDA.
He reported that the Land Use & Building Control (LU&BC) Wing had received stern instructions from the DG to combat unauthorized development, encroachments, and illicit business activity.
