Islamabad, 24 April 2025: Mohammad Rizwan has been penalised for breaching PSL code of conduct during the recent game in the ongoing 10th season of the tournament.
Rizwan, along with Colin Munro, was fined 30 per cent of his match fee following an on-field altercation that occurred during the 10th over of United’s run chase in Multan
The issue arose when Munro appeared to gesture towards Iftikhar Ahmed after playing a shot. Rizwan reacted to the gesture, leading to a verbal exchange.
Match referee Ali Naqvi found both players guilty of committing a Level 2 offence under Article 2.13 of the PSL code, which deals with inappropriate conduct by players.

On-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Chris Brown reported the incident, and both players accepted the charges without contest, thereby avoiding a formal hearing.
The match itself saw Islamabad United chase down a modest 169-run target with ease, securing victory with three wickets down and nearly three overs to spare.
Islamabad got off to a brisk start, reaching 29 runs within the first three overs before Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed.
Farhan had given his team early momentum by scoring 22 off just 13 balls, including a flurry of boundaries.

After his departure, Munro and Andries Gous steered the innings forward with a solid 81-run stand at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
Munro contributed a quickfire 45 off 28 balls, while Gous anchored the innings with a composed half-century—his first in the PSL.
Gous remained unbeaten and shared another significant partnership with Mohammad Nawaz, adding 55 runs to seal the win.
The opener’s knock featured six fours and five sixes, underlining his dominance.
For Multan, wickets were shared among Ubaid Shah, Michael Bracewell, and Chris Jordan, but their efforts were not enough to turn the tide.
