Islamabad, Oct 26: Sajid Khan Sets New Historical Record with Remarkable Seven-Wicket Haul Against England

After tormenting the visitors with his bowling in the first innings in which he took 6 wickets, Sajid showed equal class with the bat clobbering a vital 48* to put his side in the commanding seat.

He also managed to notch another wicket to his name before the day’s play came to a close. His all-round performance moved him closer to a stat-line that has only been achieved in test cricket twice.

If he takes three wickets in England’s third innings, he will become only the third player to take 10 wickets in a match and smack four 6s with the bat in the same test match.

Imran Khan and Abdul Qadir are the only players ever to have reached those numbers.

The Rawalpindi test was another happy hunting ground for Sajid Khan who resumed from where he left off in Multan, sending back six batters in the first innings to reduce the visitors to 267.

With his side struggling on a spinning wicket, Sajid took it upon himself to chase down the lead alongside Saud Shakeel hitting four 6s with three coming against Shoaib Bashir in the 86th and 88th over and one against Rehan Ahmed in the 97th.

He will need to take 3 of England’s 7 renaming wickets to etch his name in the annals of cricketing history and with the pitch seemingly in his favor, he may do so with ease.

After being dropped from the team in recent times, Sajid has not let opportunity against England from his grasp. He has quickly become a fan favorite and will likely continue to be a member of the squad for the foreseeable future.
