Just before the World Cup, during Pakistan’s tour of England, star pacer Shaheen Afridi found himself in the public eye after a furious spat with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf. The coaching staff and board officials were reportedly offended by Afridi’s actions during the practice session at Headingley.

When Yousuf accused Afridi of bowling too many no-balls, the altercation started. Afridi abruptly urged Yousuf to quit interfering with his practice in return, which led to a heated argument between the two.As a disciplinary measure against Afridi, the Pakistan Cricket Board reportedly plans to remove the former captain from the Bangladesh Homes series.

Afridi responded to the uproar by sharing a mysterious remark on his Instagram page. In a video he posted, Misbah-ul-Haq is shown getting ready for the World Championship of Legends 2024 matches when he is bowled over by him during an English net session. Afridi hinted at his resolve to move past the Headingley incident when he tagged the video, “Rise Above.”

Afridi apologized to Yousuf in front of the squad after the altercation and received criticism from the team administration, which appeared to temporarily resolve the situation.Sources, however, suggest that Afridi’s actions may have an effect on his selection for the forthcoming home Test series against Bangladesh, wherein it may be necessary to rest two or three senior players.
