Islamabad, Sep 2:  The Sindh government has planned to construct an expressway from the Karachi Port terminal to the Jam Sadiq Bridge. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah presided over a meeting of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Board when decisions about the project were made.

The chief minister stated, “The 12.5-kilometer stretch of the road will be up above and remaining below the surface.” “At the Jam Sadiq Bridge, the KPT terminal’s expressway will link with the Malir Expressway.”

 The chief minister of Sindh gave the local government department instructions to work with the PPP unit to complete the project. The chief minister declared, “The government will build the road on PPP mode with its own resources.”

According to Murad Ali Shah, the Sindh government has allotted 1.7 billion rupees for the project, and the NDD Technology Park is also being built through a public-private collaboration.
“The technology park agreement should be signed this month, following the memorandum of understanding,” the chief minister stated.

Additionally, a reforestation project spanning one lac hectares of land in Sindh was approved by the PPP policy board. It was also agreed to reforest 88022 hectares with help from the Asian Development Bank.
The chief minister stated, “A WWF report from 2017 states that Pakistan has forests on 6% of its land, whereas the minimum forest cover should be 25% of the land.”

The forestry project will be carried out in the katcha area of the districts of Matiari and Jamshoro, it was informed to the gathering. The PPP session was informed that “reforestation will be made on 34,995 hectares in the first phase of the project.”
Murad Ali Shah also demanded that the Marble City project be implemented as soon as possible, voicing frustration at the project’s delay.
