ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 3: Washington: Donald Trump, a Republican running for president, said late Friday that he and Fox News have decided to debate Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris on September 4.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, “I have agreed with Fox News to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th.” It was not immediately obvious, though, if Harris had accepted the debate.

Shortly after Harris won the Democratic party’s presidential nomination to run as the party standard bearer in November’s election, Trump posted.

On July 21, President Biden, 81, endorsed Harris in his run for the presidency after mounting worries about his age and declining polling ratings. This completely upended Trump’s presidential campaign.
After a dismal debate performance against Trump on CNN in June, Biden withdrew.

On September 10, ABC television had arranged a second televised discussion between Trump and Biden.
Although it was anticipated that Harris would replace Biden in that role, Trump’s spokesperson Steven Cheung stated last week that it was “inappropriate” to set the date before Harris had officially announced her candidacy.

Trump posted information on the debate’s location and moderators in his tweet, stating that it will take place in front of a large crowd.
