Islamabad, 1 May, 2025: Paid Internship Program opportunities have been announced by the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), targeting fresh graduates across Pakistan to support their transition into professional careers through hands-on experience in the public sector.

The national-level initiative aims to provide emerging professionals with an understanding of workplace environments while allowing them to develop both technical knowledge and soft skills in a reputable government organisation.

The internship will span two months and includes a monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000 for each selected candidate.

Program Overview and Eligibility Criteria

WAPDA has opened 50 internship slots for candidates who graduated within the past three years and are aged 26 years or below.

Applicants must hold a minimum CGPA of 2.8 from institutions recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). This Paid Internship Program is specifically intended for graduates only.

Internship positions have been allocated across various academic disciplines:

  • Electrical/Electronics & Mechanical Engineering – 16 positions
  • Civil Engineering – 14 positions
  • Geological Engineering – 5 positions
  • Computer Sciences/IT – 3 positions
  • Finance & Accounting – 5 positions
  • Human Resource Management – 5 positions
  • Mass Communication – 2 positions

Quota Distribution

The selection will be based on both open merit and regional representation.

  • Open Merit: 20 positions (40%)
  • Provincial Quotas: 30 positions (60%)
    • Punjab, Sindh, KP: 6 each
    • Balochistan, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, Ex-FATA: 3 each

Applicants must complete an online application form available on WAPDA’s official website at www.wapda.gov.pk under the ‘Careers’ section. The deadline to apply is 14 May 2025.

  • Updated CV
  • Educational certificates and latest transcript
  • CNIC and domicile copy
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • Police clearance form

Important Notes

  • Hand-delivered applications will not be considered.
  • Internships do not guarantee future employment.
  • No travel allowance (TA/DA) will be provided.
  • Final selection depends on document verification.
