Islamabad, Aug 19: The Pakistan Boat Rally and Fishing Association (PBRFA) is thrilled to report that one of its members, Mr. Manan Sheikh, saw an endangered whale shark while diving at Charna Island. On August 17, 2024, a Saturday, Mr. Sheikh and companions Faazil Tapal,

Arslan Khan, Mikaeel Ali Habib, and Rayan Maker shared the incredible experience of swimming for over twenty minutes next to this kind giant. Thankfully, Faazil Tapal possessed a using an underwater camera to record the action.

Around Charna Island, the depth ranges from 20 to 60 feet, giving it a rich place for marine organisms. Whales and whale sharks frequently come to this area in quest of food. Particularly in the winter or following the monsoon season, when the Hub River carries minerals from the mountains into the sea, enhancing its natural color.

Given that there are only 150,000 whale sharks in the world, this encounter emphasizes the significance of marine preservation. The PBRFA is committed to advancing maritime travel, preserving the marine environment and spreading knowledge about ocean conservation. The previous year, an additional

Mr. Khalid Ahmed, a member of PBRFA, caught the largest marlin in the Indo-Pak area, highlighting the association’s close ties to the ocean. Mr. Ahmed Mamoor Amimi, President of PBRFA, hailed the sighting as a “gift to all Pakistanis” He expressed gratitude to Mr. Manan Sheikh for highlighting the splendor of Pakistan’s seas.
