ISLAMABAD, JULY 18: The Women’s Asia Cup, in its ninth edition, is scheduled to go off in Sri Lanka in 2024. The tournament will include of 15 matches between complete member teams from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, as well as Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, and Nepal. The fact that the competition is a warm-up to the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Bangladesh later this year, gives it even more relevance.
India, the reigning champs, will play Pakistan in the tournament’s second match tomorrow. Two groups are formed from the teams:
Group A: UAE, Pakistan, India, and Nepal
Group B: Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka
On July 26, the top two teams from each group will move on to the semifinals, with Dambulla hosting the championship match on July 28. The Women’s Asia Cup schedule for 2024 is available here.
