Islamabad, Apr 4, 2025: ​​Today marks the 46th anniversary of the martyrdom of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the esteemed founder of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former Prime Minister of Pakistan.

To commemorate his enduring legacy, the PPP has organized special events at district headquarters nationwide, with the principal ceremony held at his mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Larkana.​

The day commenced with Quran Khawani (recitation of the Quran) and Fateha Khawani (prayers for the deceased) to honor Bhutto’s memory. These religious observances are integral to reflecting on his significant contributions and his pivotal role in Pakistan’s history. ​

In recognition of the importance of this day, the Sindh government declared April 4 a public holiday. This decision facilitates public participation in the commemorative activities and provides an opportunity for citizens to reflect on Bhutto’s impactful life and enduring legacy. ​

Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a charismatic leader who played a pivotal role in shaping Pakistan’s political landscape during the 1970s. His tenure as Prime Minister was marked by significant reforms, including nationalization policies.

The advancement of nuclear development, and a focus on addressing poverty and inequality. Despite his tragic end, Bhutto’s influence on Pakistan’s political and social structures remains profound.

His daughter, Benazir Bhutto, continued his legacy by becoming the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan.​
