Islamabad 12July: During its 70th meeting, the Capital Development Authority Development Working Party (CDADWP) authorized four development projects totaling more over PKR 8 billion.
The construction of underpasses at Serena Chowk and the Convention Centre, which aim to improve traffic flow from Srinagar Highway, Khyaban-e-Suharwardy, and Murree Road, is one of the key projects approved, according to the information. Underpasses are located on both sides of Serena Chowk and the Srinagar Highway, and three loops lead to Khyaban-e-Suharwardy as part of this PKR 4.56 billion project (PC-1). Six months are estimated to be needed to finish the project.The PKR 3.99 billion project to reduce traffic congestion at the intersection of 9th Avenue and Jinnah Avenue is another noteworthy approval. This project will include a flyover, an underpass, and protected U-turns to improve local traffic flow.
Furthermore, PKR 53.03 million (PC-2) was granted by the CDADWP to employ a consulting firm for the creation of a four-tier data center in Islamabad, and PKR 98.88 million (PC-1) for the implementation of a Resource Planning and Financial Management System. With these developments, Islamabad’s infrastructure and traffic control will be greatly improved, representing a major investment in the city’s growth.
