Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), gave the relevant authorities instructions on Friday to hasten the hardware installation for the Digital Parking Project in Islamabad.
The project’s software development is completed before this directive. The project’s initial phase will be devoted to implementing digital parking at the busiest marakiz and markets in the city.
In order to assure the project’s success, Chairman Randhawa was presiding over a meeting and emphasized the significance of gaining the trust of all parties involved, especially local shopkeepers.
Additionally, he gave the order to finalize parking policies and fees, taking into account international best practices and other cities’ experiences.
The money collected from digital parking will go toward improving, repairing, and maintaining marketplaces and markiz.
Notably, Chairman Randhawa emphasized that the digital parking initiative must incorporate a mechanism that gives priority to women, older persons, and individuals with special needs.
The purpose of this action is to improve convenience and accessibility for disadvantaged groups in society.
It is anticipated that the quick adoption of the Digital Parking Project will improve Islamabad’s parking management and make the city a more livable and tourist destination.
