Islamabad, Dec 30: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) met with the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, at the CDA Headquarters on Monday. Chairman CDA welcomed the CEO of IESCO and his team. During the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance mutual cooperation and improve coordination between the two institutions.

During the meeting, matters related to electricity theft, illegal connections, and the measures to prevent electricity theft were also deliberated.  Chairman CDA, Muhammad Ali Randhawa highlighted the need for effective coordination to address electricity theft and ensure its prevention.

During the meeting, it was decided to form a joint committee to resolve mutual issues between the two organizations. Chairman CDA stated that the committee would work on addressing challenges such as overbilling, payment of dues, and other related matters. He emphasized the importance of resolving the dues between CDA and IESCO in a phased manner.

Chairman CDA further suggested collaborating with IESCO to develop a comprehensive strategy for regulating new electricity connections in Zone 3 and unauthorized and illegal housing societies. He stressed that no new connections should be issued without CDA’s approval and called for strict legal action against illegal electricity connections.

Additionally, discussions were held regarding land allocation for the installation of a 220 kV grid station in Islamabad. Chairman CDA directed IESCO to ensure the immediate provision of electricity in Sector C-14 in alignment with ongoing development works in the area. At the end of the meeting, both IESCO and CDA reaffirmed their commitment to future collaboration and pledged to work together for the betterment of Islamabad.
