Islamabad, Feb 11: Pakistan and Belarus have taken a significant step towards strengthening their bilateral ties by agreeing to register Belarusian veterinary medicines in Pakistan. This milestone was achieved during the eighth joint ministerial commission meeting, signifying deeper collaboration between the two nations in the healthcare sector.
In addition to this, both countries are in the final stages of drafting a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on labor migration, which is expected to be signed soon. This agreement aims to streamline workforce movement and create new employment opportunities for skilled professionals from both nations.
The discussions during the commission meeting also covered key areas such as healthcare, agriculture, and technology. Officials emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties, with commercial banks from both countries set to facilitate business transactions. This initiative will encourage trade and investment, ensuring a seamless financial framework for enterprises operating between Pakistan and Belarus.
One of the primary outcomes of the meeting was the commitment to enhancing cooperation in science and technology. Both nations agreed to launch joint research initiatives and exchange programs to promote innovation and development in emerging technological fields.
The healthcare sector will also witness closer collaboration, as both countries plan to introduce joint training programs for medical professionals. These initiatives will enhance skills, improve patient care, and contribute to the overall advancement of healthcare services.

During the visit, the Pakistani delegation engaged in high-level discussions with Belarusian officials, including the Minister for Energy, Minister for Agriculture, and Deputy Foreign Minister. These meetings focused on exploring new avenues for bilateral cooperation in energy production, sustainable agriculture, and trade expansion.
Moreover, efforts are underway to revive media collaborations, with plans to resume cooperation between Pakistan Television (PTV) and Belarus’s state television network. This initiative will enhance cultural exchanges and provide a platform for sharing information and entertainment between the two nations.
With these progressive steps, Pakistan and Belarus are paving the way for a stronger, more dynamic partnership across multiple sectors, ensuring mutual growth and development for years to come.
