Islamabad, Aug 25:  The Power Division had collected approximately Rs108.93 billion as a result of a nationwide campaign against power theft.

Positive outcomes are now being seen from the government of Pakistan’s crackdown and the military leadership’s efforts to revive the economy of the nation.

Over 108 billion rupees have been retrieved from power theft suspects, while over 84,000 electrical thieves have been taken into custody, according to the details.

In August, the concerned organizations gathered more over one billion rupees from those who stole electricity in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad.
In an attempt to lower the spiraling circular debt in the power industry, the then-caretaker federal government declared on September 6 that it would begin a nationwide campaign against power theft.

Ten distribution corporations in Pakistan, according to the power minister, lose a combined Rs589 billion a year. He claimed that the main reasons for this enormous loss were electricity theft and unpaid electricity bills.

It should be mentioned that nationwide demonstrations from Karachi to Khyber became violent in certain regions of the nation in response to the exorbitant electricity prices.
