Islamabad, Feb 10: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) ended the day in red against the US Dollar (USD) after opening at 280 in the interbank market. Throughout the day, the interbank rate fluctuated between 279-281/$, closing at 279.21, marking a loss of 17 paisas, or 0.06% depreciation on a day-on-day (DoD) basis.

On a fiscal year-to-date basis, the rupee has depreciated by 0.33%. The PKR also posted losses against some other major currencies today:

  • Lost 4 paisas against the UAE Dirham (AED)
  • Lost 5 paisas against the Saudi Riyal (SAR)

However, the rupee had gains against others:

  • Gained 21 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD)
  • Gained Rs. 1.87 against the Euro (EUR)
  • Gained 74 paisas against the British Pound (GBP)
  • Gained 26 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD)

Despite the loss against the USD, the rupee managed to post some gains against key currencies in the interbank market.
