Islamabad, Nov 17: PTA Introduces VPN Registration Streamlined for Freelancers. According to a PTA spokesperson, the VPN registration procedure for businesses and independent contractors has been made simpler by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The PTA’s official website now makes it simple for organizations including software companies, call centers, banks, embassies, and independent contractors to register their VPNs online. By filling out an online form and providing necessary information, including NIC numbers, company registration credentials, and taxpayer status, freelancers, IT companies, and members of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) can apply for VPN registration.
In addition, freelancers must supply an IP address for connectivity and documentation of their project or business affiliation. This can be acquired from the internet service provider for users with a fixed IP address.
To date, PTA has processed more than 20,000 registrations. Approval often takes 8 to 10 hours and is free. Freelancers and IT professionals are anticipated to gain a great deal from this initiative, which will provide them with easy access to secure VPNs for business purposes.
Note: Anyone who needs a VPN for work-related reasons may apply under the “Freelancer” category and must submit the necessary documentation, including employer-provided proof.
