Islamabad, Apr 6, 2025: The U.S. State Department has confirmed that Senior Bureau Official (SBO) for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Eric Meyer, will lead an interagency delegation to Islamabad from April 8 to 10, 2025.

The visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties and explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s growing critical minerals sector.

Meyer’s delegation will represent multiple U.S. government agencies and participate in the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum, where discussions are expected to focus on sustainable mining practices, technology collaboration, and enhanced U.S.-Pakistan economic cooperation.

The visit underscores Washington’s strategic interest in South Asia’s mineral resources, especially rare earth elements vital for global supply chains in clean energy and advanced technology.
